Representation of the patent for "connectable sandbag cover"
On the " World Exhibition-Expo 2000 by the Sea " in Germany.

As part of the „ World Exhibition - Expo 2000 at the Sea " in Wilhelmshaven (Germany), the Technische Hilfswerk (THW-Technical Emergency Corps) has testet my invention of the
„Climbing sand bags" on an area of 7 500 m˛ and introduced it to a large number of visitors. The tests focused on a survival house to be used during catastrophes, such as earthquakes or floods, and on dike construction.
The following pictures are to give an impression how the invention can be used. The viewer might find it interesting that the THW staff and the fire
brigade cannot seperate the climbing sand bags in the direction of pulling.
Due to its inbuilt air-conditioning properties, the survival house has lasted six month without any damage (such as mold or rot) and met all static criteria for ist possible use in an emergency.

Research report and expert opinion of the technological university Luebeck, from Prof. Dr.-Ing. Henning Fahlbusch - expert in hydraulic engineering, about the interlocking strength of velcro elements at sandbags.

This expertise of the technological university Luebeck was the basis for the THW (Technical Emergency Corps) to introduce my invention sandbag envelope systems to a wide visitor audience on the " World Exhibition-Expo 2000 by the Sea " in Wilhelmshaven (Germany).
